Display advertising
We run ads from Google AdSense on this site. Ad networks pay us based on impressions and clicks, regardless of which article you’re reading. Ad placement does not influence what we write or how we rank products.
Affiliate links and commissions
Some articles link to products or services on other sites — books, gear, apps, courses. When you click one of those links and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to products we believe are genuinely useful to the article’s topic.
WunderWild is our product
WunderWild (wunderwild.app) is an animal identification app that we built and own. When it appears in an article — including our roundups of identification apps — that is a recommendation of our own product, not an independent affiliate link. We tell you this plainly wherever it appears, and we say so here for the same reason: you should know exactly who benefits when we point you toward it.
How we make editorial decisions
Writers choose what to cover and how to rank it based on research, testing, and subject knowledge, not on which links or products pay the most. That applies equally to affiliate products and to WunderWild. If WunderWild is weaker than a competitor on a given point, the article says so.
