What is ZoomZoo?

ZoomZoo is Flora Fauna Fun’s free daily animal guessing game. Each day we take one wildlife photo and zoom in so far that all you can see is a tiny patch of fur, feathers, scales, or skin. Your job is to work out which animal you’re looking at before the camera pulls all the way back. It’s a little like a wildlife version of the daily word-puzzle games you already love — except here, your eyes do the solving.

How to play ZoomZoo

  1. Study the opening close-up. Texture, color, and pattern are your first clues.
  2. Type a guess into the box and choose an animal from the suggestion list, then press Guess.
  3. Every wrong guess or skip zooms the photo out one step and reveals a free hint, such as the animal’s group or habitat.
  4. You have five tries. Name the animal before they run out to win the day and keep your streak alive.

Tips from the Flora Fauna Fun team

Up close, nature loves to repeat itself: reptile scales can pass for fish scales, and a bird’s feather can look like a mammal’s fur, so don’t anchor too hard on your first impression. Watch the color as much as the texture — very few animals wear the same palette. If a guess lands in the same animal group as the answer, the game marks it “Warm!”, which quietly tells you the group is right and only the species is wrong. And when you’re truly stuck, skipping costs a guess but buys you a wider view and a fresh hint — sometimes the smartest move in the game.
